Hands-On Care, Every Day
Clear Lake Kennels is owned and operated by Elyse (Griffin) Vandermolen, who grew up in a family showing and loving dogs. With roots in competitive dog showing since 1968, Elyse brings a lifetime of hands-on experience and deep knowledge of animal care to every aspect of the kennel.
Elyse breeds and shows Papillons alongside her mother, AKC judge Sharon Newcomb, and has served on the boards of the Papillon Club of America, Anatolian Shepherd Dog Club of America, and Houston Kennel Club. She currently serves as president of the Houston Area Papillon Club and is a member of the Houston Area Toy Club.
Her passion for dogs and decades of professional experience ensure that every pet at Clear Lake Kennels receives the highest standard of care, safety, and comfort—because for Elyse, this isn't just a business, it's a lifelong calling.

State-of-the-Art Mason Fencing
Our Mason fencing features a continuous weave design with no pronged pieces to prevent injuries, no wide gaps at closures, and a patented latch that requires two fingers to open—keeping your pet safely contained.
Natural & Chemical-Free
Our limestone floors, well water, and pesticide-free environment create a healthier stay. Each suite is vacuumed and hand-scrubbed with care.
Special Needs Welcome
Dedicated "fragile egg" areas for seniors, anxious pups, or dogs needing extra TLC. Medication administered with detailed tracking at no extra cost.
